Green Statement
At The Beach House we are very aware of the impact the tourism industry has on the environment affecting Dorset and the Jurassic coastline in particular.
We aim to offset our carbon footprint as much as we can and to this end we undertake to do the following with your help:
Recycle as much as possible.
We will recycle any bottles, cans, batteries, plastic, paper and cardboard that you leave to one side of your waste bin.
We recycle as much as possible of all general and kitchen waste.
Fuel
All plug sockets are turned off whilst rooms are empty, so please check these if something fails to turn on.
Please turn down radiators where you feel able to do so.
In the single rooms the electric radiators must be switched off when you leave the rooms and not left on overnight.
Please do not leave TV's on standby mode or indeed any other equipment such as laptops, mobile phone chargers etc..
Please turn off lights when you leave a room - especially in the en-suite.
All kettles have water level indicators, so please only fill to the level required, a jug is provided to assist with filling the kettle to the required level. We will be replacing standard kettles with mini kettles over time.
Water
There are dual flush toilets in some en-suites.
We replace towels in line with the Quality system requirements (after three days) unless you leave your towel in the shower to indicate you require a change sooner.
And Finally Food
We aim to use unpackaged fresh foods wherever possible.
We use some local suppliers.
We use milk sticks rather than plastic pots.
We cook to order rather than in advance and therefore can reduce waste and provide tasty fresh breakfasts for you to enjoy.
